What is Flexi-pay?
Flexi-pay is an additional service we offer our customers to help make a product more affordable by spreading its cost(excluding postage and packaging) across 2, 3 or 4 instalments, interest free.
The first payment is made when you place your order the remaining payments will be taken in subsequent monthly instalments.
Flexi-pay is so easy to set up – we do it all for you! Here's how it works:
Step 1: Look For the Flexi-pay Symbol
Wherever you see this Flexi-pay symbol - on TV or on the website - it means you can choose the Flexi-pay option for that item if you wish.
Step 2: See the Flexi-pay Details on the Product Page
To find out which Flexi-pay options are offered for an item, simply click on the 'Flexi-pay Details' tab on the product page. You'll see instantly how many payments you'll need to make for that item, and the amount of each payment.

Step 3: Put More Purchases in Your Flexi-Basket
Once you've added one Flexi-pay item to your basket, you can add others! These additional items will also be included in your Flexi-pay plan*.
* Please check your basket before you check out, as some items may not be available on Flexi-pay.
Step 4: Select Your Flexi-pay Items in the Checkout
Once you've added your items to your basket and reached the checkout, you'll be taken to an Order Confirmation page. Under Order Details, tick the box to choose Flexi-pay and scroll down to see your available payment options. Tick the box of your choice.
Step 5: Confirm Your Checkout Selection and First Payment
Read through your Order Summary to check that Flexi-pay has been applied and that your first payment (made with your order), is what you expect.
If you order over the phone, our Customer Services adviser will confirm your plan.
Step 6 – Confirmation of Your Purchase and Flexi-pay Amounts Schedule
You'll receive a letter through the post, detailing your purchase and confirming payment amounts and the dates they'll be taken from your credit/debit card. You'll know exactly what you'll be paying, and when.
What happens if I order some products on Flexi-pay and some non-Flexi-pay products at the same time?
If you have some Flexi-pay and some non-Flexi-pay items on the same order, you may be offered the opportunity to pay for all products by Flexi-pay.
If you don't want to do this, or if you're not offered this option, you'll pay for any non-Flexi-pay items in full when you place your order.
What if I order two Flexi-pay products at the same time but with different payment schedules?
If you order two products at the same time but with different payment schedules – for example, a two-month and a three-month term - you'll automatically be given the choice of paying for both products over the longer time period.
How do I pay?
Flexi-pay instalments must be paid with a credit or debit card. At this time Maestro Debit cards and PayPal are not supported for payment by Flexi-pay.
We take payment of the first instalment, plus postage and packaging, when you place your order, then subsequent monthly instalments automatically from the same card until the order is fully paid.
Please note: If the credit or debit card you used to pay Flexi-pay instalments is lost, stolen, or cancelled, you must contact Customer Services so we can update your Flexi-pay account.

How do I settle the account early?
Please contact a member of the Customer Services team on 08717 123 455*, who will be able to take payment from you for your remaining instalments in one go.

What happens if I miss a payment?
We understand that sometimes mistakes happen. If we attempt to take a payment and your bank declines it, we will send you a letter to let you know.
We will attempt to take payment again 14 days after the original instalment date. However, if your card is declined again, we will add an administration charge of £12.50 plus VAT* to your outstanding balance which will be payable immediately, along with your missed instalment.
*Please note that from1st January 2014, the administration charge will increase to £15.00 plus VAT.
What happens if the third attempt to take payment fails?
We will attempt to collect an instalment three times before handing it over to a debt collection agency. On the second and third attempts we will add an administration charge of £12.50 plus VAT* per attempt to your account.
If you have still not paid, all outstanding payments due for your items - the missed instalments and any future instalments otherwise due at a later date - will be payable immediately in full, together with the combined £25.00 plus VAT administration fees* (for the second and third attempts).
We will then instruct a debt collection agency to recover these amounts from you – which will incur additional document and administration charges of 14% plus VAT.
This charge will be increased to 29% plus VAT if a doorstep collection is required. Failure to settle the account with the debt collection agency may result in legal action being taken against you, and any legal fees and costs will be added to your debt.
* Please note that from 1st January 2014, the administration charge will increase to £15.00 plus VAT and the combined amount (for two administration fees) will increase to £30 plus VAT.
What happens if I need to return an item paid for with Flexi-pay?
In the unlikely event that you have to return an item, we will refund your card for the amount you have paid so far for that item, excluding postage and packaging.
If your order was for more than one Flexi-pay item and you still have further instalments to pay, then we will adjust your schedule accordingly and notify you by letter. Your statutory rights are not affected.
I'm confused, how are my instalments calculated?
Ideal World may provide an instalment amount that differs from the amount you had expected, especially when discount vouchers are involved.
If you've applied a discount voucher to your order, this has to be split amongst the items on your order, and across the Flexi-pay instalments.
When your order cannot be split equally over 2, 3 or 4 instalments, Ideal World will always add the extra pennies to the first instalment, so please bear this in mind.
If you're a Craft Club member, your discount will be applied first, followed by any discount vouchers you wish to use, before finally your instalment amounts are calculated and displayed.
